Astros Minor League Recap: June 26th

Another day of Astros minor league action is in the books. See the results below!

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (50-27) lost 14-2 (BOX SCORE)

Greene got the start but struggled allowing 6 runs over 2.1 innings. He was relieved by Tamarez who allowed 5 runs over 1.2 innings. Hensley put the Space Cowboys on the board with a solo HR in the 6th. The pen had some struggles and the offense was quiet the rest of the way as Sugar Land fell 14-2.

Note: Whitcomb has a .972 OPS this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (27-44) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got the scoring started in the second inning scoring 2 runs on a Price RBI single and a run on an error. In the 4th, they added 2 more runs on a Brewer solo HR and Corona RBI double. Ullola got the start and pitched well striking out 7 over 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The offense got another in the 9th on an Arocho bases loaded walk and the pen was able to close it as the Hooks won 5-3.

Note: Ullola has 98 K in 71.1 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (31-37) POSTPONED

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (32-39) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE

The Woodpeckers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a Gomez RBI double, a run on a balk and a Casserilla RBI single. They got another run in the 5th on an Ochoa RBI single. Nezuh got the start and was great allowing 1 run over 6 innings while striking out 8 batters. Leach allowed a couple runs in relief but Chirinos was able to hold on for the save.

Note: Nezuh has 79 K in 66.2 innings this season.
