Astros Minor League Recap: August 13th, 2021
Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.
AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (47-38) lost 5-4 (BOX SCORE)
Brown started for the Skeeters and went 5 innings allowing 1 earned run. The Skeeters got on the board in the 5th scoring 2 runs on a Dawson RBI triple and Hinojosa RBI single. Dubin relieved Brown and allowed 3 runs. The offense got 2 back in the 8th on a Matijevic RBI single and a steal of home by Siri. The offense went down in order in the 9th though as the Skeeters lost 5-4.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (41-47) lost 8-4 (BOX SCORE)
The other Brown started for the Hooks and went 4.1 innings allowing 1 run. The Hooks jumped out to an early lead on a solo HR from Manea in the 2nd inning. In the 3rd, the Hooks got back to back HRs from Barefoot and Salazar to make it 3-0. Adolph added an RBI single in the 4th to extend the lead. Ruppenthal came in and pitched the last 3 innings and allowed 7 runs. The offense was unable to get anything else going as they lost 8-4.

A+: Asheville Tourists (35-50) lost 5-4 (BOX SCORE)
Macuare got the start for Asheville and went 2.2 innings allowing 4 runs. Dirden put the Tourists on the board in the 3rd with sac fly. In the 5th they got 2 more runs on a Guerrero solo HR and Dirden RBI single. In the 8th, Valdez tied it up with an RBI single. Robain was great in relief striking out 10 over 5.2 innings but he allowed the walk-off run in the bottom of the 10th.
Note: Robaina has a 3.22 ERA with 56 K in 50.1 innings this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (38-49) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)
Rodriguez started for the Woodpeckers and went 3.2 innings allowing 1 run. The offense got on the board early scoring 2 runs in the first on a Wagner RBI double and another run on an error. The Woodpeckers scored 3 more runs in the 7th on a Kato RBI single, Williams bases loaded walk, and Perry RBI groundout. Taveras allowed 2 runs over the final 4 innings but was able to close it out for the win.
Note: Wagner is hitting .455 with a 1.160 OPS this season.
