Astros Minor League Recap: July 10th, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (32-23) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez started and allowed 1 run in 1 inning. He was relieved by Martinez who allowed a run in 2 innings. Meyers put the Skeeters on the board in the 3rd inning with a 3 run HR, his 15th HR of the season. In the 5th, they got 2 more runs on a Meyers sac fly and Hinojosa RBI double. France relieved Martinez and dominated in relief going 5 innings and allowing 1 run while striking out 10. Hinojosa added an RBI single in the 7th. Paredes closed it out with a scoreless 9th to pick up the save.

Note: France has a 1.96 ERA with 32 K in 18.1 innings in AAA.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (25-34) lost 9-0 (BOX SCORE)

Bermudez started and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 7. The bullpen struggled allowing 7 runs between DeJuneas, Olczak and Tejada. The offense picked up just 6 singles on the night as they were shutout in the 9-0 loss.

Note: Bermudez has 75 K in 52.2 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (25-33) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

De Paula started and allowed 2 runs in 4 innings with 6 strikeouts. Carrasco put the Tourists on the board in the 4th with an RBI single. Salazar added a sac fly in the 5th to tie it up at 2. Salazar would add another sac fly in the 7th to take a 3-2 lead. Ruppenthal relieved De Paula and allowed 1 run in 5 innings. The game went to extra innings and the Grasshoppers were able to walk it off as they won 4-3.

Note: Whitcomb has 18 SB in 48 games this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (24-32) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Jimenez started for the Woodpeckers and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings with 6 strikeouts. The Woodpeckers scored 3 runs in the first on a Daniels RBI single and Ramirez 2 run single. Berryhill added a solo HR in the 3rd. In the 6th, Mendoza connected on a solo HR to extend the lead. Tamarez closed it out allowed 3 runs in 4 innings as he picked up the save.

Note: Jimenez has 44 K in 39.1 innings this season.
