Astros Minor League Recap: July 1st, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (49-34) won 5-0 (BOX SCORE)

Framber made his first start since being sent back to AAA and pitched really well striking out 10 over 6.2 innings. The Express scored all five runs in the 6th inning on a Tucker 2 run single, two runs scoring on a wild pitches and another run scoring on an error. Garza tossed 2.1 scoreless to close it out and pick up the save.

Note: Tucker has 62 RBI in 77 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (38-42) won 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Bailey continued his hot run for the Hooks. His scoreless streak was snapped at 18.2 innings, went 5 innings allowing just 1 run. The Hooks picked up their first run in the 3rd on a Dawson RBI double. Robinson added 2 more runs in the 5th on a 2 run single. Collado pitched the final 4 innings allowing just 1 hit and no runs as he picked up the save.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .311 in 15 games in AA.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (37-44) lost 9-3 (BOX SCORE)

Donato started but allowed 6 runs in 5.1 innings. He was relieved by Rodriguez who allowed 3 runs in 2.2 innings, putting the Woodpeckers in a 9-0 hole. Schreiber was the only offense for Fayetteville connecting on a 3 run HR in the 8th inning.

Note: Adams has 12 HR, 52 RBI in 67 games this season.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (50-26)

Game 1 – won 2-0 (BOX SCORE)

This game was a completion of the suspended game from Sunday. Daniels tossed 5.2 scoreless innings to start it. The scoring came in the 8th on Wielansky and Nova RBI singles. The bullpen was solid as they closed out the win.

Game 2 – won 7-3 (BOX SCORE)

Ruppenthal started for the River Bandits and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings. Nova put the offense on the board in the first with an RBI double and he came around to score on an error later. Campos added an RBI singe in the 3rd. The River Bandits took a commanding lead in the 7th on a Lacroix RBI single and McKenna 2 run double. Bravo closed it out allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, over 4 innings.


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (6-10) lost 9-0 (BOX SCORE)
