Astros Minor League Recap: June 27th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (46-33) lost 3-0 (BOX SCORE)

Armenteros started for the Express and went 4.1 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Emanuel and Rodgers each allowed a run in relief. The offense really struggled though picking up just 1 hit as they lost 3-0.

Note: Rojas has 25 2B in 70 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (37-39) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Javier started for the Hooks and pitched well allowing 2 runs over 6.2 innings while striking out 7. The Hooks scored all 3 runs in the 5th inning on solo HRs from Shaver, Robinson, and Dawson. Collado closed it out striking out 3 over 2.1 innings.

Note: Javier has a 1.81 ERA and allowed just 33 hits in 69.2 innings this season.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (36-41) lost 12-6 (BOX SCORE)

First rough outing for Conine this season. He went just 3.2 innings and allowed 9 hits and 6 runs. Meyers finally put the offense on the board in the 6th with a 2 run HR. They got 4 more in the 8th on a Taylor grand slam but the bullpen allowed another 3 runs as they lost 12-6.

Note: Meyers is hitting .295 with 3 HR, 9 RBI over his last 10 games.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (47-25) won 10-2 (BOX SCORE)

The River Bandits hopped out to a big lead early scoring 5 runs in the first inning on a Campos RBI single, Hensley 3 run double, and Lacroix RBI single. They picked up 2 more in the 2nd on a groundout and error. They would score 2 more in the 4th on a Hensley RBI triple and Nova RBI double. Tejada got the start and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The bullpen was solid with Conn and Gonzalez tossing 2 scoreless innings each to close it out.

Note: Dennis is hitting .342 with 10 RBI.


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (4-8) lost 7-3 (BOX SCORE)
