Astros Minor League Recap: August 3rd, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (63-48) lost 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Rodgers started for Fresno last night and went 5.2 innings allowing 3 earned runs. Stubbs brought the Grizzlies a bit closer with a 2 run HR in the 7th. Boshers and Ferrell combined to allow 3 runs in the 8th as Nashville opened up and won 6-2.

Note: Stubbs is hitting .361 with 2 HR, 8 RBI over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (68-43) lost 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Bielak got the start for Corpus Christi last night and was solid allowing 2 runs over 5 innings with 5 strikeouts. He was relieved by Osuna who made his Astros organizational debut with a scoreless inning. The Hooks only managed one run, a solo HR by Sierra in the 6th inning. Winkelman tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief but the Hooks were unable to score again.

Note: Bielak has a 2.23 ERA with 31 BB/106 K in 93 innings this season.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (61-48) POSTPONED


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (62-48) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Garcia started for the River Bandits last night and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings. The River Bandits picked up all 3 runs in the 4th inning on a Lacroix 3 run HR. Mushinski allowed a run in 2 innings and Feldmann closed the game out with 2 scoreless innings to pick up the save.

Note: Abreu has a 0.54 ERA with 32 K in 16.2 innings for Quad Cities.


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (25-20) POSTPONED
