Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (29-22) lost 2-0 (BOX SCORE)

Rough day for the offense. Thornton got the start and continued his solid pitching allowing 2 runs over 6 innings with 8 strikeouts. Unfortunately, the offense only had six hits, all singles and were unable to push a run across the board.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (29-21) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)

Alex Winkelman was on the mound for the Hooks last night and he pitched well allowing 1 run in 5 innings. Taylor Jones stayed hot getting the Hooks on the board with a solo HR in the first inning. A Stephen Wreen RBI double and Sierra RBI groundout in the 2nd inning would give the Hooks a 3-1 lead. Cesar joined in the scoring hitting a solo HR of his own in the 6th inning. In the 7th inning the Hooks put up 2 more runs on a De Got RBI single and Straw RBI single. The bullpen gave up a couple runs but the Hooks were able to hold on for the victory.

Note: Cesar is hitting .465 with 2 HR, 10 RBI over his last 10 games.

A+: Buies Creek Astros (28-22) won 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

Dominant pitching performance for the Astros in this one. Bielak got the start and allowed just 2 hits in 5 innings while picking up 6 strikeouts. McCormick drove in the only run of the game with an RBI double in the second inning. Hector Perez relieved Bielak and tossed 4 no-hit innings to pick up the save and seal the shutout.

Note: Perez last 8 outings – 0.69 ERA, 13.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 12 K

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (28-22) won 8-3 (BOX SCORE)

The River Bandits jumped out to an early lead scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning on Julks RBI single/error and Papierski 2 run HR. Mushinski got the start and allowed 3 runs over 5 innings. Roman Garcia added to the score with an RBI single in the 3rd for the River Bandits. Quad Cities added some insurance in the 8th picking up 3 runs on a Shaver 2 run HR and De La Cruz RBI single.
