Astros Minor League Recap: April 30th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (17-8) won 11-4 (BOX SCORE)

David Paulino made his first outing of the season last night and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned runs in 3 innings of work. Fresno fell behind 3-0 but the offense came to play. They got 3 runs in the third on a Reed bases loaded HBP, Davis groundout, and Stubbs RBI single. In the 4th they would pick up 3 more runs on Tucker RBI double and White 2 run HR. The offense put the game out of reach in he 8th getting 3 more runs on a Ferguson 2 run double and Reed RBI single. Tucker capped a solid day at the plate with a 2 run double in the 9th. The bullpen was solid with Thornton and Hoyt having good outings.

Note: Tucker is hitting .293 with .828 OPS and 17 RBI in 22 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (15-9) lost 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Rough game for the Corpus Christi offense. Hartman got the start and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5.1 innings while striking out 7. Benedetti got the Hooks on the board with a solo HR in the 7th to make it 1-1. Unfortunately, the offense was unable to get anything else going and fell 2-1 in 12 innings.

Note: Hartman has a 1.83 ERA with 4 BB/22 K in 19.2 innings this season.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (10-12) OFF
