Astros Minor League Playoff Recap: September 11th, 2017

Quad Cities is moving on to the championship!

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (2-1) won 6-1 (BOX SCORE)

Another exciting game for Quad Cities. Scheetz got the start last night and continued the string of good starting pitching for the River Bandits. He ended up going 6.2 innings allowing just 1 runs with 9 strikeouts. The offense got things going early scoring 3 runs in the first inning on a bases clearing double from Rojas.

In the 4th inning, Rojas singled, advanced to 3rd on a Matijevic double, and eventually scored on a De La Cruz sacrifice fly. Montano relieved Sheetz and pitched well too going 1.1 scoreless innings. The River Bandits would add some insuranc ein the 9th inning with RBI singles from Robinson and Trompiz. Corniel pitched a scoreless 9th to close it out and see Quad Cities to the championship series.

Note: Rojas has 7 RBI in 6 playoff games so far.
