Houston Astros Select JB Bukauskas #15 Overall

With the #15 pick in the 2017 MLB Draft the Houston Astros select JB Bukauskas, RHP out of the University of North Carolina.

Bukauskas is electric and filthy. He throws his fastball in the mid 90s and has a wipeout slider. His junior year he had a 2.53 ERA with 116 K in just 92.2 innings. Also a bonus, he is just 20 years old. For a more detailed report check here: Draft Profile: JB Bukauskas

Here is what Grayson Skweres had to say:

Personally my favorite pitcher in this draft. Young for a guy with three years of experience. Hard thrower with a good power slider and a change up that’s showing plus. Reminds me a lot of Marcus Stroman. Has one mechanical issue in that he stays a little too upright and doesn’t get full extension and finish, but that’s an easy fix. If/when he fixes that, there’s an extra 3-5 mph on that fastball.
