Houston Astros Minor League Recap: August 26th
Another night of Astros minor league play is in the books. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (68-65) lost 3-0 (BOX SCORE)
Tough night for the Grizzlies’ bats. Paulino got the start last night and pitched well going 5 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) with 8 strikeouts. Unfortunately the offense couldn’t get anything going as they managed just 5 hits. McCurry and Chapman each tossed two scoreless innings in relief.

The Astros top pitching prospect, Francis Marte, was on the mound last night and he continued his great pitching. He went 7 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits with 4 strikeouts. The Hooks bats were quiet until 6th inning when Ferguson connected on a 2 run HR, his first HR in Double-A. The Hooks would add some insurance getting 5 runs in the 7th inning on a Nunez run scoring single, Tanielu 2 run single, and a Davis 2 run HR. Peterson struck out 4 over the final two innings to close it out.

Late rally falls short for Lancaster. Hernandez was on the mound last night and went 5 innings allowing 4 runs with 3 strikeouts. The offense was silent for the 7 innings before getting on the board in the 8th. In the 8th they got a Woodward solo HR and a Martin sac fly to cut the lead in half. In the 9th inning the Jethawks put the tying runs on base but were unable to bring them home. Thome tossed three scoreless innings in relief.

Another disappointing night offensively for Quad Cities. Chavez started for the River Bandits and pitched really well allowing just 1 run over 7 innings. Quad Cities tied the game up in the 6th on an RBI single from Wernes. The game would stay scoreless until the 9th inning when Hernandez gave up a run. Quad Cities went down in order in the 9th and fell 2-1.
