Houston Astros Minor League Recap: August 15th
Another night of Astros minor league play is in the books. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (65-56) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)
Fresno drops another and falls five games back of Tacoma. Things started off great for Peacock as he was rolling through 3 innings. He ended up allowing 1 run in the 4th, 2 runs in the 5th, and another run in the 6th. Worth got Fresno’s scoring started with a solo HR in the bottom of the 1st. Fresno tied the game in the 6th with a bases loaded walk to Stassi, a Singleton sac fly, and a Garcia RBI single. Iowa retook the lead with 2 runs in the 7th and Fresno was able to bounce back.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (67-53) lost 8-5 (BOX SCORE)
This game got off to a good start with Straw leading off the game with a solo HR, his first professional HR. Martin added a 2 run HR in the 1st to make it 3-0. High Desert responded immediately with 3 runs of their own in the 1st. James was on the mound and went 5.2 innings allowing 5 runs. In the 6th inning Wik hit a solo HR to tie the game at 4 but High Desert responded again taking an 8-4 lead. Sewald added an RBI single in the 8th to make it 8-5 but that is all they would get.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (57-62) lost 9-3 (BOX SCORE)
This one started off right for the River Bandits as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd on a 2 run HR from Roa and a solo HR from Hermelyn. Quiala got the start and was unable to make it out of the 3rd inning and finished going 2.1 innings allowing 6 runs. Clinton continued to play add on getting 3 more in the 7th while the River Bandits’ bats were shutout for the remainder of the game. On a positive note, Person tossed 4 scoreless innings lowering his ERA to 2.93 on the season.
