Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 14th
All four full season teams as well as the DSL squads in action. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (28-35) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)
Another nice win for Fresno. Shirley got the start and gave up 3 run in 5 innings of work. After falling behind 2-0, Fontana tied the game with a 2 run HR in the top of the 2nd inning. Stassi broke that tie with a solo HR in the 4th inning. In the 5th, Fresno plated two runs on an error to take a 5-2 lead. Fresno would add another run in the 8th on a Kemmer RBI single. The bullpen for Fresno was lights out. Gustave pitched a perfect 6th and 7th with 4 strikeouts. Jankowski tossed a scoreless 8th inning and Fields threw a perfect 9th to pick up the save. Reed had two doubles on the night.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (40-22) won 8-1 (BOX SCORE)
Corpus continues to find ways to win. The Hooks got on the board early with a 2 run HR from Fisher in the first, his 12th HR of the season. Fisher would add an RBI single in the 3rd to drive in the 3rd run for the Hooks. Emanuel got the start and pitched well going 4.1 innings and allowing 2 runs. Emanuel was pulled after 83 pitches as he works his way back from TJS. The game would stay tied at three until the 12th thanks to 4 scoreless innings from Peterson and two scoreless innings from McCurry. In the 12th with two outs Garcia got on with a single. The next batter, Teoscar, hit an RBI double to win in a walk-off!

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (33-31) won 10-5 (BOX SCORE)
Lancaster got the offense going in this one with 13 hits. The game was scoreless through the first four innings but Lancaster broke the tie with 2 runs in the 5th thanks to RBI singles from Reynoso and Sewald. James got the start for Lancaster and while he allowed 3 runs, he struck out 11 in 6 innings. Lancaster would add 4 runs in the 7th to take the lead. In the 7th they got RBIs from Laureano, Muniz, and Mizell. They would add on in the 8th with a 2 run HR from Laureano, his 5th on the season. Thompson closed the game pitching the final 1.2 innings without allowing a run.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (28-36) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)
QC fell in a tough one. Jose Hernandez got the start and was phenomenal. He went 7 innings allowing 1 hit, no runs, and striking out 12. QC got on the board with a Wernes RBI single in the 3rd. In the 4th they would add another run on a Goedert RBI groundout. Unfortunately Nelson gave up 3 runs in the 8th and QC was unable to battle back as they fell 3-2.
