Astros Minor League Recap: August 29th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (64-63) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Ivey got the start for Sugar Land and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The offense got on the board in the 4th on a Trammell solo HR. In the 6th, the offense got 2 runs on Trammell and Whitcomb solo home runs. The pen was great tossing 4 scoreless innings as they closed out the 3-2 win.

Note: Hernandez has a 2.05 ERA in Triple-A.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (43-80) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Swanson started for the Hooks and went 4.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The pen allowed a run as the Hooks found themselves down 4-0. The offense got on the board in the 7th on a Bush RBI groundout but that was it as the Hooks fell 4-1.

Note: Baez is hitting .386 in August.


A+: Asheville Tourists (50-70) lost 8-0 (BOX SCORE)

True got the start but struggled a bit allowing 4 runs over 4 innings of work. Pena and Almonte allowed 2 runs each in relief as the Spartanburgers extended their lead. The offense had a rough night collecting just 4 hits as they were shutout in the 8-0 loss.

Note: Diaz has a 2.45 ERA this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (66-58) won 8-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the first inning on a Vasquez RBI single. They got 3 runs in the 3rd inning on a Hernandez 2 run single and Call RBI double. They got another run in the 4th on an error. Gonzalez got the start and pitched well tossing 5.1 scoreless innings. The offense would add on with a sac fly in the 6th and then 2 runs in the 7th on a Call RBI double and Forrester RBI groundout. Landeta closed it out allowing 1 run over 3.2 innings as the Woodpeckers won 8-1.

Note: Landeta has a 2.63 ERA in Single-A.
