Astros Minor League Recap: June 26th

Another day of Astros minor league baseball in the books! See the results below. Check out the previous day’s recap here.

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (39-38) POSTPONED

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (23-48) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez started for the Hooks and went 5 innings allowing 3 runs. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Willits RBI double. They got another run in the 4th inning on a Williams RBI groundout. The Hooks tied it in the 5th on a Ferreras RBI single and then took the lead in the 6th inning on a Clarke RBI single. The pen pitched well tossing 4 scoreless innings as they closed out the 4-3 win.

Note: Rodriguez has tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in Double-A.


A+: Asheville Tourists (32-39) lost 8-7 (BOX SCORE)

Taylor got the start for Asheville and allowed 6 runs, 2 earned, over 3.1 innings. The offense got on the board in the 4th inning on a Gomez 2 run HR. Guedez relieved Taylor and went 4.2 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned. In the 6th, the offense rallied for 5 runs on a Gomez RBI single, Perez RBI single, Whitaker 2 run double, and Jaworsky RBI groundout. Unfortunately that was it from the offense though as Asheville fell 8-7.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (39-33) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the first inning on a Luciano RBI groundout. Luciano added an RBI single in the 3rd and Fisher added an RBI single in the 4th. In the 5th, Luciano connected on a solo HR. Rodriguez got the start and allowed 2 runs over 5 innings. Frias closed it out allowing one unearned run over 4 innings as the Woodpeckers won 4-3.

Note: Rodriguez has a 2.29 ERA this season.
