Astros Minor League Recap: June 14th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (36-31) lost 15-13 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in a big way scoring 7 runs in the 2nd inning on a Price 3 run HR, Short RBI double, Trammell sac fly and Castro 2 run single. Ivey got the start and allowed 7 runs over the first 2 innings of the game. Sugar Land got 2 more runs in the 4th on a Castro RBI triple and Bastidas RBI single. Ivey allowed another 4 runs and ended up allowing 11 runs over 3.2 innings. The offense picked up another run in the 5th on a Trammell RBI single and 2 runs in the 6th on a Corona sac fly and Short solo HR. The pen struggled through allowing 4 runs as the Aces took the lead and won 15-13.

Note: Castro is hitting .325 in Triple-A.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (21-40) lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Fleury got the start making his first appearance since May 14th and tossed a scoreless inning. The Hooks got on the board in the 4th inning on a Ferreras RBI double. Rodriguez relieved Fleury and went 3 innings allowing 1 run. Halligan and Rodning each allowed a run in relief as the Wind Surge took the lead. The offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Hooks fell 3-1.

Note: Fleury has a 2.18 ERA this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (27-35) lost 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

Brito started for Asheville and pitched well striking out 7 over 4.1 scoreless innings. Swiney allowed a run in relief as the Cyclones took a 1-0 lead. Langford tossed 1.2 scoreless in relief but the offense struggled collecting just 4 hits as they were shutout in the 1-0 loss.

Note: Brito has a 3.45 ERA this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (34-27) won 6-0 (BOX SCORE)

David started for the Woodpeckers and pitched really well striking out 6 over 5 scoreless innings. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on a solo HR from Luciano. They got 2 more runs in the 6th on a Trimble 2 run HR. The offense added 2 more runs in the 7th on a Hernandez RBI triple and a run scoring on a double play. In the 8th inning, Fisher connected on a solo HR. Rodriguez went the final 4 innings without allowing a run and striking out 3 as the Woodpeckers won 6-0.

Note: Rodriguez has a 2.34 ERA this season.
