Astros Minor League Recap: June 10th

Another day of Astros minor league baseball in the books! See the results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (35-28) won 15-9 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board early scoring 4 runs in the first on a Matthews 2 run double, Castro RBI double and Guillorme RBI single. They got 2 more in the 2nd inning on a Guillorme groundout and Bastidas RBI single. Ullola got the start and went 4.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Narvaez added a 2 run single in the 4th to extend the lead. The offense continued to add on late getting 3 in the 8th on a Castro 2 run single and Bastidas RBI single. In the 9th, the offense added 4 runs on a Hummel 3 run HR and Matthews solo HR. The pen allowed a few runs but held on for the win.

Note: Matthews has a .832 OPS this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (20-36) lost 6-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Diaz solo HR. They got another run in the 4th on a Garcia solo HR. Mancini started for the Hooks and went 4.2 innings allowing 4 runs.

Note: Chirinos has 40 K in 25 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (25-33) lost 8-2 (BOX SCORE)

Bello started for Asheville and went 5 innings allowing 3 runs. Swiney pitched in relief and allowed 4 runs as the Cyclones extended their lead. The offense got a run in the 7th on a Whitaker run scoring single and another in the 8th on a Gomez RBI groundout. That was it from the offense though as Asheville fell 8-2.

Note: Bush has a .884 OPS this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (33-25) won 9-8 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers jumped out to an early lead scoring 5 runs in the first inning on a Brutcher RBI triple, Valencia 2 run single, Luciano RBI single and another run on an error. Tredwell got the start and went 4 innings allowing 3 runs. The offense got 2 runs in the 4th on a Hernandez RBI single and Villarroel RBI groundout. They got 2 more runs in the 5th on a Trimble 2 run HR. The pen allowed 5 runs but Almonte closed it out getting a strikeout and double play to end it.

Note: Brutcher has a .930 OPS this season.
