Astros Minor League Recap: September 15th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (90-53) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land jumped out to an early lead scoring 4 runs in the first inning on Cabbage and Bastidas RBI singles, Melton groundout and Hamilton RBI double. Gordon got the start and was solid allowing 1 run over 5 innings. The pen allowed a few runs as the Aces tied things up. In the 9th, Matthews walked it off with a bases loaded hit by pitch as Sugar Land won 5-4.

Note: Gordon has a 4.01 ERA in Triple-A.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (52-84) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Mancini started for the Hooks and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 4 innings of work. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Barber 2 run HR. Torres tossed a scoreless inning in relief and Fleury allowed 2 runs over 4 innings with 5 strikeouts. The offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Hooks fell 5-2.

Note: Mancini has a 1.88 ERA this season.
