Astros Minor League Recap: July 5th

Another day of Astros minor league action is in the books. See the results below!

Here is the previous day’s recap.

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (56-30) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first inning on a Leon RBI single. In the 2nd inning, Hamilton added a solo HR. They got another run in the 3rd on a Hummel RBI single. Lauer got the start and went 3.2 innings allowing 1 run. The bullpen was solid again allowing 1 run over 5.1 innings as they closed out the 3-2 win.

Note: Hamilton has. a .861 OPS in Triple-A.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (28-52) lost 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Guilfoil started for the Hooks and allowed 3 runs over 4.1 innings of work. The offense got on the board in the 5th on a Brewer 2 run HR. Mancini went 3 innings in relief allowing 1 run but the offense was unable to score again as the Hooks fell 4-2.

Note: Mancini has a 2.20 ERA in Double-A.


A+: Asheville Tourists (35-42) won 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Guedez got the start allowing 1 run over 5 innings with 8 strikeouts. All of Asheville’s offenses came in the 7th when they scored 3 runs on a Garcia RBI single and Sherwin 2 run HR. The bullpen was great tossing 4 scoreless innings to secure the 3-1 win.

Note: Guedez has 67 K in 60.1 innings this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (35-45) lost 10-2 (BOX SCORE

Mejia got the start and allowed 3 runs over 2 innings. The offense got on the board with a Hernandez 2 run HR. The pen struggled allowing 8 runs. The offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Woodpeckers lost 10-2.
