According to a report from Ari Alexander of KPRC in Houston, the Astros are calling up one of their top prospects, Joey Loperfido.

Loperfido has been on fire in Triple-A this season with an OPS over 1.100 and 13 HR in just 25 games. The 24-year-old was originally a 7th round pick out of Duke back in 2021. He has put together three really good seasons in the minor league system showing off power to all fields.

The left-handed hitter draw walks and can steal bases. Defensively, he has the ability to play both outfield and first base at a strong level. Loperfido’s bat will instantly give the Astros’ offense a boost.
