Astros Minor League Recap: April 21st

Another day of Astros minor league action is in the books. See the results below!

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (14-7) lost 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Tamarez started for Sugar Land but struggled allowing 5 runs and walking 5 over 3.1 innings. The offense got on the board in the 3rd inning on a Julks solo HR. In the 6th, they got 2 more runs 0n a Bastidas 2 run HR. The rest of then pen was solid but the offense was unable to get anything else going as Sugar Land fell 5-3.

Note: Bastidas is hitting .323 this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (5-10) won 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Robaina got the start for the Hooks and pitched well tossing 5 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts, allowing just 1 hit. Guilfoil relieved Robaina and allowed a 1 run in the 8th. In the bottom of the 8th, Corona came through with a 2 run single to give the Hooks the lead. Guilfoil stayed in and tossed a scoreless 9th inning as he picked up the win.

Note: Robaina has a 0.90 ERA in Double-A this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (6-8) POSTPONED

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (9-6) lost 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez got the start for the Woodpeckers and allowed 4 runs over 3 innings. He was relieved by Petschke who allowed 2 runs in 1 inning. The offense was quiet until the 8th where they picked up 2 runs on an Encarnacion RBI single and Sherwin RBI groundout. Hicks tossed 4 scoreless in relief but the offense was unable to complete the comeback.

Note: Hicks has a 0.00 ERA this season in 13 innings.
