Astros Minor League Recap: September 12th, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (64-48) lost 6-0 (BOX SCORE)

Solomon started for the Skeeters and went 2.2 innings allowing 5 runs. He was relieved by Scheetz who tossed 2.2 scoreless innings. The offense picked up 8 hits on the night but failed to score any runs as they lost 6-0.

Note: Pena is hitting .428 over the last 5 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (50-63) CANCELLED


A+: Asheville Tourists (50-60) lost 10-5 (BOX SCORE)

Gomez got the start for the Tourists and allowed 4 runs, 1 earned over 2.2 innings. Whitcomb put the Tourists on the board in the first inning with a solo HR, his 20th HR of the season. In the 2nd, Diaz hit a solo HR, his 10th in High-A. The Tourists took the lead in the 5th scoring 3 runs on a Guerrero RBI single, Daniels RBI double and Correa sac fly. The Braves rallied though scoring 1 run in the 8th and 5 in the 9th to take a 10-5 lead. The Tourists were unable to respond.

Note: Whitcomb is hitting .286 with 20 HR, 29 SB this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (52-62) lost 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Arrighetti started for the Woodpeckers and struck out the first 6 batters before running into some trouble in the 3rd as he allowed 2 runs. Kato put the Woodpeckers on the board in the 5th with a solo HR. In the 6th they got another run on a Palma RBI single. The Cannon Ballers added 3 more insurance runs as the Woodpeckers fell 6-2.

Note: Kato has a .421 OBP this season.
