Astros Minor League Recap: August 3rd, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (44-33) SUSPENDED


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (35-43) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)

Endersby started for the Hooks and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 5. The offense got the scoring started scoring 3 runs in the 3rd on a Lee RBI double and Hensley 2 run double. In the 7th they got 2 runs on a Manea bases loaded walk and Barefoot RBI groundout. Perez added a sac fly in the 8th for some insurance. Tejada allowed 2 runs in the 9th but the Hooks were able to hold on for the 6-3 win.

Note: Endersby has 79 K in 65 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (32-44) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Jimenez got the start and went 5.1 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned while striking out 7. Daniels put the Tourists on the board in the 4th inning on a solo HR. Abreu added a 2 run single in the 6th to make it 4-3. Cody tossed 3 scoreless innings to keep it close but the offense was unable to pick up another run as they lost 4-3.

Note: Whitcomb has a .942 OPS in 25 High-A games.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (34-44) won 10-0 (BOX SCORE)

Robaina started for the Woodpeckers and tossed 5 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts. The offense got on the board in the 3rd scoring 4 runs on a Brewer RBI groundout and Diaz 3 run double. In the 4th, Gonzalez connected on a solo HR to left. The Woodpeckers picked up 3 more in the 5th on a Mascai RBI groundout and Gonzalez 2 run single. The offense added some insurance in the 8th on a Woodpeckers RBI single and Rodriguez RBI double. Gomez closed it out with 4 scoreless innings.

Note: Diaz is hitting .319 with 23 2B this season.
