Astros Minor League Recap: August 22nd, 2021
Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.
AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (52-41) lost 8-4 (BOX SCORE)
Conine got the start for the Skeeters but got roughed up allowing 8 runs, 5 earned in 2 innings. The offense got 2 runs back in the 2nd on a Papierski RBI single and Costes sac fly. In the 5th they got a sac fly from Garcia. The bullpen was solid holding the Dodgers scoreless the remainder of the game. The Skeeters would get one more run in the 9th on a Sierra RBI double but that would be it as the they fell 8-4.
Note: Abreu has a 1.08 ERA in AAA.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (44-52) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)
Endersby started for the Hooks and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The Hooks first run came on a Valdez RBI groundout in the first inning. Hensley tied the game up in the 5th with an RBI double. Henderson allowed a run in the 8th as the Missions took a 3-2 lead. The offense was unable to respond as the Hooks dropped this one 3-2.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (43-52) won 9-7 (BOX SCORE)
Garcia got the start for the Woodpeckers and allowed 4 runs, 2 earned over 4 innings of work. The Woodpeckers battled back getting 2 runs in the 5th on a Stevens 2 run double. In the 7th, Stevens tied the game up with a 3 run HR. The Pelicans retook the lead off of Brown who allowed 3 runs, 1 earned in 4 innings. In the bottom of the 8th, down 7-5, Giron gave the Woodpeckers the lead with a grand slam to go up 9-7. Betances closed it out with a scoreless 9th inning.
