Astros Minor League Recap: May 13th, 2021
Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.
AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (6-1) won 10-4 (BOX SCORE)
The Skeeters jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with a 3 run double from Siri in the first inning. In the 2nd inning, Meyers connected on a 2 run HR, his 4th HR of the season. After the bases were loaded on a single, walk and HBP, Siri cleared them again, this time with a grand slam to make it 9-0. Hansen was the starter but lasted just 1.2 innings throwing 64 pitches and allowing 1 run. Martinez tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in relief of Hansen,. Ivey was up next and went1.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Garza tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. In the 9th, Stubbs added another run on an RBI single and Ferrell closed it out with a scoreless inning.
Note: Siri is hitting .467 with 18 RBI in 6 games.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (3-6) won 4-0 (BOX SCORE)
Record got the start for the Hooks and pitched really well tossing 5 scoreless innings. Paredes came in after Record and tossed a scoreless inning in relief. The offense was dormant until the 8th when they picked up a run on an RBI groundout to give them a 1-0 lead. A couple hitters later, Manea cleared the bases with a 3 run double to give the Hooks a 4-0 lead. Peck tossed two scoreless innings in relief snd Hernandez closed it out with a scoreless 9th as the Hooks wan 4-0.

A+: Asheville Tourists (4-4) won 6-5 (BOX SCORE)
Endersby appeared in his second outing of the season and was solid allowing 2 runs over 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. The Tourists got their first run in the 4th on a Lee sac fly. In the 6th the Asheville took the lead on a 2 run double from Guerrero. The Tourists got a run in the 7th on an error and then Santana added a 2 run HR in the 8th to make it 6-2. Ruppenthal relieved Endersby and struggled in the 8th as the Hot Rods scored 3 runs to make it 6-5. Fortunately Serrano was able to slam the door in the 9th and seal the win.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (4-5) won 7-6 (BOX SCORE)
Reina started for the Woodpeckers and really struggled retiring just one batter as he allowed 6 runs. He was relieved by Holcomb who went 1 scoreless inning, but walked 4. Sprinkle was up next and tossed 1.2 scoreless before being relieved by Plumlee. The Woodpeckers got on the board in the 6th scoring a run on an error and an Alvarez RBI single. In the 7th, Barefoot added a sac fly to make it 6-3. Plumlee was dominant in relief striking out 7 in 4 scoreless innings. Melendez tossed the final two innings and struck out 4 without allowing a run. In the bottom of the 9th the Woodpeckers rallied on a Correa bases loaded walk, a Dirden RBI single to make it and a bases loaded HBP to Daniels to tie it at 6. With the bases still loaded, a throwing error allowed Correa to score for the walk-off win.
Note: Barefoot has 10 RBI in 8 games this season.
