Astros Minor League Recap: June 30th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (48-34) won 7-6 (BOX SCORE)

Bielak turned in another quality outing allowing 3 runs over 6 innings. Tucker put the Express out in front early with a grand slam in the first inning. Reed added an RBI single in the 4th and a solo HR in the 7th. The pen allowed some runs but the Express were able hold on for the 7-6 win.

Note: Tucker has a .954 in 76 games this season.

  • Kit Scheetz, LHP: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
  • Felip Paulino, RHP: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K (SAVE)

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (37-42) lost 11-6 (BOX SCORE)

LaRue started for the Hooks and got roughed up allowing 9 runs over 3.2 innings. The Hooks scored early though on a leadoff HR from De La Cruz and another run scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning. Duarte added a solo HR in the 5th. The Hooks got a couple more runs on a Toro solo HR in the 7th and a De La Cruz 2 run double in the 8th. It wasn’t enough though as they lost 11-6.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .311 in 15 games in AA.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (37-43) won 8-4 (BOX SCORE)

France started for the Woodpeckers and allowed 1 run over 5 innings. The offense got the scoring started scoring 2 runs in the first on Julks and Adams sac flies. They got another in the 2nd on an Arauz solo HR. The Pelicans took a 4-3 lead but the Woodpeckers rebounded with 4 runs in the 8th on on an Adams grand slam. Manea added a sac fly in the 8th to make it 8-4. Billingsley closed it out tossing 2 scoreless innings.

Note: Adams has 12 HR, 52 RBI in 67 games this season.

A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (6-9) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)
