Astros Minor League Recap: July 17th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (57-40) won 11-8 (BOX SCORE)

Bostick started for the Express but got roughed up allowing 7 runs over 1.2 innings. After falling behind 7-0, the Express responded with 5 runs of their own in the 3rd on a De Goti 3 run HR, Ritchie RBI double and Correa RBI single. In the 4th they put together another rally on a solo HR from Rojas, Correa RBI double, and McCormick RBI single. They picked up 3 more in the 7th on a Ritchie RBI double and a Rojas 2 run HR. Emanuel tossed 6 innings in relief allowing just 1 run. McCurry got the final 5 outs to pick up the save.

Note: Rojas is hitting .438 with 3 HR, 9 RBI over his last 8 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (45-50) won 4-0 (BOX SCORE)

Paredes got the start for the Hooks and had another dominant outing. He tossed 6 scoreless innings while striking out 9. The Hooks got on the board in the 4th when 3 runs scored on an error. In the 7th, they were able to pick up another run on an error. Collado closed it out with 3 scoreless innings as the Hooks won 4-0.

Note: Paredes has a 2.63 ERA with 107 K in 78.2 innings this season.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (43-51) POSTPONED


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (58-32) won 9-3 (BOX SCORE)

Bermudez was the starter for the River Bandits last night and he turned in a nice outing striking out 8 over 5 scoreless innings. QC picked up 3 runs in the first on a Salazar sac fly and a Kessinger 2 run single. In the 2nd inning they scored 2 more on a Dennis 2 run HR. They capped their scoring picking up 4 runs in the 5th on a Salazar 2 run double, Lacroix RBI single, and Dennis RBI single. Freure allowed 3 runs in relief but Martin was able to close out the win.

Note: Salazar is hitting .333 with 6 RBI over his lat 10 games.
