Astros Minor League Recap: July 16th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (56-40) won 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Sneed started for the Express and pitched great tossing 7 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts. Stubbs got the scoring started with a 2 run HR in the 2nd inning. Fisher added a solo shot in the 3rd to make it 3-0. Jones added some more insurance in 5thb with an RBI single for the 4th run. McKee allowed a run in the 9th but was still able to hold on for the 4-1 win.

Note: Fisher is hitting .308 with 3 HR, 7 RBI in July.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (44-50) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Donato started and pitched a nice game allowing just 2 runs in 7 innings of work. The Hooks scored their 2 runs on one swing, a 2 run HR by Dawson (15). Unfortunately, the offense was unable to get anything else going and DeJuneas allowed three runs over the final 2 innings as they fell 5-2.

Note: Donato has 2 BB/18 K in 16.1 innings in AA.

A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (12-17) OFF
