Astros Minor League Recap: June 9th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (38-25) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Martin made his first start since being sent back to AAA and he didn’t fare too well allowing 7 hits and 4 runs in 3 innings. The Express did get on the board first though scoring 3 runs in the first inning on a Tucker solo HR, Ferguson sac fly and Tanielu RBI single. In the third they got another run on a Jones RBI single. The Express entered the 9th down 6-4 and got a solo HR from Reed but failed to score another run and lost 6-5.

Note: Tucker has 5 HR, 10 RBI in 7 games in June.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (31-31) lost 6-0 (BOX SCORE)

Rough night for the Hooks offense. They managed just five hits during the game, four singles and one double. Adcock got the start and wasn’t roughed up a bit allowing 6 runs in 4 innings. On the positive side, Paredes made his AA debut and tossed 4 perfect innings in relief with 5 strikeouts.

Note: Paredes has 64 K in 48.0 innings this season.


A+: Fayatteville Woodpeckers (26-36) lost 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

France got the start and turned in a quality outing allowing 2 runs over 6 innings. De La Cruz lead off the game with a HR, his 4th of the season. In the 4th, Costes tied the game with a solo HR. Papierski temporarily gave the Woodpeckers a lead with a solo HR in the 6th. The Woodpeckers entered the 8th up 3-2 but Rosado allowed 3 runs as the Blue Rocks came back and won 5-3.

Note: Costes is hitting .306 with 2 HR, 7 RBI for Fayateville.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (39-20) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Bravo started for Quad Cities and after allowing 2 runs in the first, he pitched pretty well. He ended up going 6 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned. Nova put the River Bandits on the board in the 4th with an RBI double. The River Bandits entered the 7th down 3-1 but scored 4 runs on a Nova bases loaded HBP, and a bases clearing double from Wielansky. Gonzalez closed it out with 3 scoreless innings.

Note: Pena has a .306 BA with .833 OPS in 56 games this season.
