Astros Minor League Recap: June 13th, 2019

AAA: Round Rock Express (40-26) won 10-8 (BOX SCORE)
Emanuel started for the Express and allowed 1 run over 4.1 innings while striking out 6. The offense got going early scoring 4 runs in the 2nd on a Tanielu 2 run single and De Goti 2 run triple. They added on to the lead with a McCormick RBI single in the 4th and a Tanielu solo HR in the 6th. Jones added a 2 run HR in the 7th to make it 9-3 at the time. Campos also added an RBI double. The Aces tried to rally making it 10-8 but ultimately came up short.
Note: Tanielu is hitting .478 with 5 HR, 21 RBI over his last 10 games.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (32-33) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)
Ramirez started and went 4 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned with 7 strikeouts. The offense got on the board with 2 runs in the 4th on a Goetzman flyout and a Rodriguez RBI single. They took the lead on a wild pitch in the 5th and then in the 6th Toro gave them an insurance run with a sac fly. Abreu tossed 4 hitless innings to close it out.
Note: Abreu has 40 K in 32 AA innings this season.

Donato got the start and pitched into the 7th but ended up allowing 6 runs over 6.1 innings. The offense had a slow night scoring just 1 run that came on a Sierra RBI double in the 3rd. They were unable to get anything else going and lost 7-1.

Game 1 – lost 2-0 (BOX SCORE)
Deason started game one of the double header and allowed 2 runs over 5.2 innings while striking out 6. Unfortunately the bats couldn’t get much going only totaling 3 singles during they game as they lost 2-0.
Note: Deason has a 3.48 ERA with 55 K in 44 innings over his last 10 outings.

Freure got the start in game 2 and while he struck out 9 in 3.1 innings, he also allowed 6 runs, 4 earned. The offense got things going in the 3rd scoring 6 runs on a Wielansky RBI single, McKenna 2 run single, Nova RBI single, and Henley 2 run double. Adolph connected on a solo HR in the 4th for the 7th run. Pena added an RBI single in the 6th for an insurance run. Bermudez and Castellanos had scoreless outings to close it out.
Note: Adolph is hitting .382 with 3 2B, 2 HR over his last 10 games.
