Astros Minor League Recap: June 19th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (44-27) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Dykxhoorn has been very good for Fresno since his promotion to AAA and last night was no different has he went 7 innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 8. The offense got on the board with 3 runs in the 4th on a Kemmer RBI single and Nunez 2 run double. They picked up another run in the 5th on a bases loaded walk to Stubbs. A Reed RBI groundout in the 9th added some insurance. McCurry allowed a run in the 9th but still picked up the save.

Note: Tucker is hitting .487 with 5 2B, 8 RBI, 4 BB/5 SO over his last 9 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (44-26) won 9-6 (BOX SCORE)

Another strong offensive performance for the Hooks. They fell behind 4-0 but got on the board in the 4th on De Goti sac fly. The Hooks would score 3 runs in the 5th on a McCormick RBI double, Wrenn RBI double, and Alvarez RBI single. San Antonio got 6 runs off of Quiala but the Hooks would tie it up in the top of the 6th on a Sierra RBI double. Corpus Christi ended up scoring 1 run in each of the final 3 innings on a Jones solo HR and a run scoring on an error and groundout. The bullpen of Ferrell and Scheetz tossed 4.2 scoreless innings to close it out.

Note: Alvarez is hitting .320 with with 8 HR, 34 RBI in 30 games this season.
