Astros Minor League Recap: June 13th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (39-26) won 9-2 (BOX SCORE)

Dykxhoorn started for Fresno last night and was very good striking out 9 over 6.2 innings while allowing just 1 run. White got the Grizzlies on the board in the first with a 3 run HR, his 13th of the season. Fresno would put up a 6 spot in the 6th inning on a Tanielu 2 run single, a Tucker RBI double, and Reed 3 run HR. Reed has 6 HR over his last 7 games. Emanuel and Garza combined to close it out for Fresno.

Note: Dykxhoorn has a 2.28 ERA with 4 BB/26 K in 23.2 innings in AAA


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (39-26) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Whitley made his second start of the season and was good once again tossing 4 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. The Hooks got on the board in the 3rd when Straw scored on a wild pitch. They picked up 2 more runs in the 6th on a Cesar RBI double and Birk RBI single. Midland tied it with 3 in the bottom of the 6th. The Hooks retook the lead on a Ritchie RBI single in the 8th. Pinales closed it out with 2.1 scoreless innings.

Note: Wrenn is hitting .351 with 3 HR, 11 RBI over his last 10 games.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (36-29) won 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Javier made his High-A debut last night and did not disappoint tossing 6 no hit innings while striking out 5. Buies Creek got their first run in the 3rd on a Duarte RBI groundout. They would score one more in the 6th on a Payano RBI single. Saldana relieved Javier and gave up a run in his 2 innings. McKee picked up the save with a clean 9th inning.

Note: Javier has 85 K in 55.1 innings while allowing just 28 hits this season.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (36-30) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez was the starter last night and he pitched well tossing 4.2 no-hit innings with 7 strikeouts. The River Bandits got on the board in the 2nd on a sac fly. Shaver added a solo HR in the 4th to make it 2-0. Mushinski came in the game in the 6th and allowed 4 runs over 3 innings, but Quad Cities would rally. In the bottom of the 8th the River Bandits put up 3 runs on a Bohanek 2 run triple and Shaver sac fly to take a 5-4 lead. Collado closed it out with a scoreless 9th.

Note: Meyers is hitting .351 with 4 SB over his last 10 games.
