Astros Minor League Recap: June 27th, 2017
Another day of baseball in the books. See how the teams and prospects performed in their games last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (40-38) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)
Morton made his 2nd rehab start and pitched well tossing 4 scoreless innings on just 47 pitches (29 strikes). Fresno jumped out to an early lead on a 3 run HR from Fisher in the first, his 17th HR of the season (in AAA). Fresno would play add on getting a Brignac RBI triple in the 4th, White solo HR in the 5th, and Tucker RBI single in the 6th. Smith relieved Morton and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 4 innings. Perez pitched a perfect 9th to pick up the save.

A+: Buies Creek Astros (39-37) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)
Bower got the start and allowed 2 runs over 2.2 innings with 3 BB/2 K. Buies Creek would tie the game at 2 in the 3rd on a DeGoti solo HR and a Straw triple when he scored on a balk. Buies Creek entered the 8th down 5-2 but got 1 run back on a Straw RBI single. Down 2 runs in the 9th inning, Wrenn tied the game on a 2 run HR. The game would stay tied at 5 until the 15th, mainly due to Hernandez who tossed 4 perfect innings with 7 strikeouts. Unfortunately, Carolina took the lead in the 15th off of Kessay and Buies Creek was unable to respond.

Quad Cities opened quick getting 1 run in the first inning on a Franco RBI single. They fell behind 3-1 but battled back getting 1 run in the 4th on a Dawson solo HR and 3 more runs in the 5th on a Dawson RBI single and 2 more runs scoring on an error. Valdez started and allowed 5 runs over 6 innings but Pinales tossed 3 scoreless innings to close it.
