Astros Minor League Recap: June 25th, 2017

Another day of baseball in the books. See how the teams and prospects performed in their games last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (38-38) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (38-38) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE

Quiala got the start in this one going 3 scoreless innings before being relived by Sneed. Corpus got on the board first on a sac fly from Tucker. Davis added to the 1-0 lead with a 2 run HR in the 5th, his 18th HR of the season. Corpus would get another in the 6th when McCall tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Sneed pitched 3 innings allowing 2 runs. James closed out the game with three scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts.

Note: Martin is hitting .349 with 6 2B, 4 HR, 12 RBI in 21 AA games.

A+: Buies Creek Astros (38-36) lost 4-0 (BOX SCORE)

Rough day for the offense. They were no hit until the 7th inning when DeGoti broke it up with a double. Alvarez added a single in the 8th but that was the only two hits they would get. Straw did draw two walks giving him 47 this season. Hartman went 6 innings allowing 4 runs. Garza tossed two scoreless innings in relief but the offense was unable to mount a comeback.

Note: Straw is hitting .373 with 16 BB/8 K in 19 June games.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (39-33) lost 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Blanco was on the mound and started well but ended up allowing 4 runs in 4.2 innings with 6 walks. Henderson put Quad Cities on the board in the 5th with an RBI double. They would get another run in the 8th with a run scoring on an error but that was it offensively. Hunt tossed 2 scoreless innings relief.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .357 with 2 RBI in 4 games for Quad Cities


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (2-4) lost 10-9 (BOX SCORE)


Rookie: Greeneville Astros (2-2) won 11-4 (BOX SCORE)
