Astros Minor League Recap: June 19th, 2017

Another day of baseball in the books. See how the teams and prospects performed in their games last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (35-36) won 10-4 (BOX SCORE)

Fresno jumped on the board early in this one with a 2 run single from Moran and a Reed sac fly in the first inning. They would get 2 more runs in the 2nd on a White 2 run HR. Martinez got the start and was solid allowing 2 runs over 6 innings. In the 4th inning, Moran added a 3 run HR, his 15th HR of the season. Stassi added to the lead with a 2 run HR in the 5th. Holmes tossed the final 3 innings allowing 2 runs.

Note: Moran has 18 RBI in last 10 games and 52 RBI in 56 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (34-36) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE

Quiala made his AA debut last night and was great. He started the game with 5 scoreless innings before allowing a 2 run HR in the 6th inning. He finished allowing just those 2 runs in 6 innings with 8 strikeouts. Tucker got Corpus on the board in the first inning with a solo HR, his 3rd in AA and 12th overall. In the 3rd inning, Martin had an RBI single to make it 2-0. Martin would add a solo HR in the 5th, his 3rd in AA. Thompson and Thome both had scoreless outings in relief to close it.

Note: Quiala has 67 K in 64.1 innings this season.
