Below is a list of the Astros draft picks, a quick write-up on them, and their signing status. I will update this as the signings come out.

Rd 1, #21) Xavier Neyens, SS, Mt. Vernon HS (WA)

Neyens, a left-handed hitter from Mount Vernon High School in Washington, brings some of the most impressive raw power in this year’s draft class. He features a strong arm at a corner position, but it’s his power bat that stands out. At 6’4″ and 210 pounds, he profiles as an imposing presence in the heart of a lineup.

Signing Status: Signed – $4,122,500 (Slot: $4,122,500)

Rd 3, #95) Ethan Frey, OF, LSU

Frey, a native of Louisiana, put together a breakout junior season for the Tigers where he hit .331 with 13 home runs, 50 runs batted in over 62 games. Frey features some big power but also has the ability to play all over the field. He is a good runner for being 6’6” and is seen as one of the better makeup guys in the class.

Signing Status: Unsigned (Slot: $803,900)

Rd 4, #126) Nick Monistere, OF, Southern Mississippi

Monistere, born in Sugar Land, TX, had a breakout junior season for Southern Mississippi hitting .323 with 21 home runs and 72 runs batted in over 63 games. He can play all over the field and has some big time power. I was also told he has top of the scale makeup.

Signing Status: Signed – unknown bonus (Slot: $594,500)

Rd 5, #156) Nick Potter, RHP, Wichita State

Potter has the potential to be a steal. The right-hander had a 3.34 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 29.2 innings in relief, but runs his fastball up to 100 MPH with some cut generating some high whiff rates. He also has a slider and can be elite in the pen or maybe move to starter.

Signing Status: Unsigned (Slot: $443,100)

Rd 6, #186) Gabel Pentecost, RHP, Taylor University

Pentecost pitched three seasons at Taylor, with his junior season being his best. The right-hander struck out 116 over 80 innings while running the fastball up to 96 MPH. He also has a sweeping slider that is seen as his best pitch. Could be another good find for the Astros.

Signing Status: Unsigned (Slot: $341,600)

Rd 7, #216) Jase Mitchell, C, Cape Henlopen HS (DE)

The Astros went the high school route again taking Mitchell in the 7th. Mitchell is a strong, big body catcher that bats left-handed and has big time raw power. He has a big arm behind the plate and if he signs, he will add to this draft of going after big power potential bats.

Signing Status: Intends to sign (Slot: $267,700)

Rd 8, #246) Kyle Walker, 2B, Arizona State University

Walker transferred to Arizona State for his senior season after dominating at Grambling State. This trend continued at Arizona State where he hit .352 with 7 home runs and 22 stolen bases over 57 games. He has great speed, can steal bases and has good on-base ability.

Signing Status: Intends to sign (Slot: $219,800)

Rd 9, #276) Kellan Oakes, RHP, Oregon State

Oakes is a relief pitcher from Oregon State that had some solid numbers his junior year. The right-hander had a 3.68 ERA while striking out 47 over 36.2 innings. Oakes has a mid 90s fastball with a good slider and changeup out of the pen.

Signing Status: Signed – unknown bonus (Slot: $199,500)

Rd 10, #306) Zach Daudet, SS, Cal Poly

Daudet is a senior infielder who played at Cal Poly over his last two seasons. The 22-year-old hit .360 with 28 walks to 31 strikeouts with 9 home runs and 5 stolen bases over 53 games. He can play all over the infield, so it will be interesting to see where the Astros play him.

Signing Status: Unsigned (Slot: $188,900)

Rd 11, #336) Justin Thomas, OF, Arkansas

Thomas is a junior outfielder from Arkansas who transferred from JuCo in 2024. In 2025 he hit .303 with 9 home runs and 7 stolen bases over 62 games. Thomas is a strong athlete and plus runner who could develop into more power.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 12, #366) Elijah Farley, OF, Navarro HS (TX)

Farley is a 6’4″ and 188 lbs. outfielder from Navarro HS in Texas. Farley has some legit power from the left side of the plate and can flat out fly on the base paths and in the outfield. This would be a nice overslot signing for the Astros to get more talent in the system.

Signing Status: Signed – $150,000

Rd 13, #396) Aubrey Smith, RHP, UNC Wilmington

Smith was primarily a relief pitcher who put together a good season in 2025 posting a 3.10 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. He also had some good numbers in wood bat leagues posting a 2.15 ERA in 29.1 innings.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 14, #426) Josh Wakefield, OF, Grand Canyon University

Wakefield is a lefty hitter, lefty runner coming off a season at Grand Canyon University where he hit .349 with 18 stolen bases in 50 games. He also hit .292 in 34 games in the West Coast League. He doesn’t have a ton of power, but has some good speed.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 15, #456) DJ Newman, TWP, Bowling Green

Newman put together some really dominant numbers offensively. He hit .419 in 25 games this season and hit .388 overall in 101 college games. He has some power and speed at the plate but also pitched where he struck out 91 over 85 innings with a 3.60 ERA in college.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 16, #486) Chase Call, OF, UC Irvine

Call is a 23-year-old outfielde who .315 as a senior with 11 homers over 52 games at UC Irvine. He has had some up and down seasons but has shown some decent tools.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 17, #516) Grayson Saunier, RHP, Texas

In the 17th round, the Astros took another relief pitcher, this time from Texas. Saunier pitched in 12 games posting a 3.86 ERA over 25.2 innings. He also pitched in the Cape Cod League and struck out 18 over 15 innings with a 3.00 ERA.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 18, #546) Landon Arroyos, SS, Grayson HS (GA)

Arroyos is an athletic middle infielder from Grayson High School in Georgia. He is a solid defender with range and controls the bat well in the zone. He is committed to Georgia State but hopefully the Astros can get him away from his commitment.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 19, #576) Joey McLaughlin, OF, Harrah HS (OK)

The Astros went with another high school prospect in the 19th round, selecting McLaughlin from Harrah HS in Oklahoma. He is a lefty hitter and athletic outfielder standing at 6’2″ and 195 lbs.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Rd 20, #606) Curtis Hebert, RHP, University of Portland

Hebert was raised in Alaska and played college ball at University of Portland. He pitched and hit in college posting a 4.25 ERA on the mound and hitting .238 at the plate. He was on the tracker as a shortstop but I heard he will be pitching for the Astros.

Signing Status: Unsigned

Signed Undrafted Free Agents:

Brandon Cassedy, RHP, George Mason

Cassedy had some dominant numbers at Christopher Newport before transferring to George Mason where he had a 3.32 ERA with 78 strikeouts in 84 innings. He logged over 200 innings in college.

Mason Lytle, OF, UTSA

While Lytle is 24-years-old already, he put together a great 2025 season hitting .366 with 22 doubles, 10 home runs, 68 runs batted in and 17 stolen bases. He also only struck out 23 times.

Coleman MacRae, RHP, Central Arkansas

MacRae pitched three seasons for Central Arkansas, splitting time between starting and the pen, and struck out 97 over 98.1 innings, with his best strikeout rate coming in 2025.

Jackson Wells, RHP, Little Rock

Wells broke onto the scene with a dominant freshman season posting a 1.65 ERA in 93 innings. After a rough sophomore season he struggled a bit as a junior with a 5.36 ERA, though he had 97 K in 87.1 innings.

Charlie Weber, RHP, Saint Louis

Weber pitched both as a starter and in relief in college, with his success coming out of the pen. In 2025, the right-hander posted a 2.89 ERA with 58 K in 56 innings.
