This will be your weekly hot list of prospects who are performing well at the plate and on the mound. Here is last week’s hotlist. Below is the new hotlist for Week Six.
Who’s Hot At The Plate?
Zach Cole – Cole has some of the highest potential in the Astros system, and he showed that this week. In five games for the Hooks, Cole hit .389 with 3 doubles, 3 home runs and 10 runs batted in. After battling with an injury early, Cole now has his OPS up to .750 and has 8 stolen bases in 25 games.
Colin Barber – Barber has struggled with injuries in his career but has been healthy so far in 2025. This week he turned things on hitting .444 in 4 games. This included him hitting for the cycle last week. He’s hitting .267 with a .760 OPS in 28 games for the Hooks in Double-A.
Ryan Wrobleski – Wrobleski got red hot this week helping the Hooks offense breakout. He played in five games and hit .409 with 3 home runs, 8 runs batted in and 3 stolen bases. He has 5 home runs and 15 runs batted in over 29 games this season in Double-A.
Joseph Sullivan – Sullivan was seen as a potential breakout prospect this year, and he has started the year well. This week he played in six games and hit .389 with 3 home runs, 4 stolen bases and drew six walks. Overall this season, Sullivan has a .985 OPS with 10 home runs and 17 stolen bases in 36 games.
Who’s Hot On The Mound?
Juan Bello – The Astros acquired Bello in the deal that sent Pressly to the Cubs. Following a strong 2024, Bello got off to a rough start in 2025. He has turned it on recently, including tossing 7 no-hit innings with 6 strikeouts this week across two outings. He’s tossed 12 consecutive scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit.
Alonzo Tredwell – Tredwell was the Astros second round pick in 2023 and after struggling with injuries in 2024, he’s started to get it rolling this year. This week, he had his best outing of the season tossing 5 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts allowing just 1 hit. He has a 3.46 ERA this season.
Alex Santos – Like Tredwell, Santos has dealt with injuries over the last few years. He is healthy and back in Double-A and had a nice outing this week tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while striking out 5. He has a 3.52 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 15.2 innings for the Hooks this season.
Bryce Mayer – Mayer looks to be another great pitching find by the Astros. The 2024 16th round pick struck out 7 over 4.1 innings allowing 1 run this week. Overall this year, Mayer has 39 strikeouts in 26 innings while posting a 4.15 ERA. Given his age of 23, he could continue to move up quickly.
